One of the reasons that Passport Yachts hold their value is their precision-engineered construction. This, coupled with Old World craftsmanship and the very best materials, make Passport yachts the envy of the industry.
Because our yachts are built in Xiamen, a highly skilled, highly educated area with lower labour rates than Europe or the USA, we can invest many more man hours into each yacht. Between 20,000 and 40,000 hours are devoted to the construction of a custom-built Passport Vista. This represents approximately 30% to 35% more man hours than our competitors' yachts.
Our superior quality is evident in the carpentry finishes, intelligent electrical and fuel systems, over-engineered deck equipment, and refined design. As mentioned, all of our yachts are built at our high-tech, modern facility in Xiamen; we DO NOT subcontract our construction to other factories. This means we stay hands-on and keep control of each manufacturing step. Our facility is huge, state-of-the-art and unparalleled in the sailboat world. Over 600 highly-skilled personnel at the factory take pride in the art of boat building, from engineering, fiberglass, electrical, plumbing, custom stainless steel work to carpentry.
